I used to go to this restaurant years ago and it was one of my favorite restaurants, but in the past 10 years or so the quality of the food and service have gone way down. Their tempura shrimp is rubbery and the taste of their food is not much to be desired anymore. The service sucks. The young people these days really need to get their act together and be more professional and courteous. You don't get ahead in this world by being rude. Also, when I placed a large take out order by the time I got there to pick it up it was not only not ready, but they hadn't even started on it. I ended up waiting another 20min. or so. I won't be going back.

I love they're food and tasty sushi but I had to wait for almost 45 minutes just for a single table... I think if they had more spaces this wouldn't be a problem.

I used to enjoy coming here but over the years but it has suffered a slight decline... a shame but perhaps inevitable. The food is hit and miss and the staff can be very rude at times... some of whom were arguing while they were still serving us! My husband and I used to come here quite frequently but nowadays not so much.
Visit at your own risk.

Thank you to the entire staff at Ichiban! My family and I had a great time! We took my brother-in-law who is Japanese and was visiting from Hawaii there and he highly recommends Ichiban,Brea. We went to a couple of other sushi places here in Brea and we did not like them at all. We love Ichiban,Brea! Good food, good service, good people, Awesome sushi! Thank you MASAKO and TAKA! ICHIBAN!!!

I love this restaurant, every time we visit we have a new and unique experience. I love talking with theSushi chefs and trying new types of sushi. Best of all, this place has the finest marriage of Eastern and Western influences, creating an ultimately fun and delicious experience! Highly recommended for anyone who is willing to have a relaxing and soothing time in Brea! 5/5 stars!

I went with my family for many years to this resaurant.
I have never gotten bad service or bad food there. This is by far the best japanese restaurant around Orange County. I highly recommend this place to anyone. Fresh fish, hot grill, peaceful atmosphere and friendly servers. Perfect for any occasion.

I love this place, great food, great location and a great staff! I love their unique experiments with familiar foodstuffs by adding an eastern twist! To risk sounding cliche- I would say this place is fun for the whole family!
5/5 Stars!

I have been dining over at Ichiban for almost 22 years and I have never had a single problem with their services. The food is reasonably priced, the variety is always new and exicting and the quality of food merits yet another star in this star scale. I enjoy the atmosphere and friendly staff and some I even know by first name. This is a family restaraunt where people can relax and have a great time. Some previous users may be judging this place a little too harshly. Rule of thumb for any restaraunt- GOOD FOOD TAKES TIME TO COOK! I highly recommend their 'Crazy Rolls' and their Curried Chicken plates! Overall Six out of Five stars! Previously poor reviews be damned!
