Recently bought a set of tire chains for $80 knowing full well there was a "no return" policy on the chains. Well one of the chains barely fit my tire, and the other just wouldn't fit at all, no matter what I did. Well, this was on a sunny day on a flat asphalt street - you can imagine how impossible it would have been to get these chains on in snow conditions? As they were completely useless to me, I took them back, but the girl behind the counter reveled in the "no return" policy power which she was given, and did absolutely nothing to get me in contact with her supervisor, or anybody with half an ounce of brains.



We all understand "no returns", but basically Kragen sold me chains which were not appropriate for my tire size, which could have led to a dangerous situation had I not given them a "dry run" at home. (Can you imagine finding out the chains were to small in a blizzard condition in the mountains?). I think that policies should be guidelines, with some thoughtfulness given to each individual situation. Evidently, not so with Kragen. I will continue to bring this problem to the store's attention, but this is unusual behavior in the generally reputable stores that I shop at. Obviously, I will not be buying anything from Kragen's in the future, and would caution other shoppers about this kind of policy which they have.
