Placer County Sheriff exists to safeguard life and property, fight crime and maintain order in Placer County, Calif. It creates a safer environment by placing a priority on preventing unlawful activities. The department s units and divisions include air operations, automated technology, crime analysis, coroner, corrections, dispatch, search and rescue, canine unit, investigations, marine patrol, mounted united, patrol and special enforcement teams. Community service programs, dive team, hostage negotiation team, D.A.R.E program, civil division, evidence, ally program, special operations marijuana eradication team and explorers is also offered through the department. Placer County Sheriff is headquartered in Auburn, Calif.
