Sunland Tire

I took my wife's ranger to this place because I had just put on a set of new, but heavier AT tires and noticed that the truck was a little slower. This place is super close to where I work in Covina so it was convenient to drop it off and see if maybe the tires we're put on wrong, too big, or whatnot.



They told me that I needed my drums cleaned out and brand new rotors and brakes quoting me at just over $400. I was shocked, but did it anyway figuring I hadn't gotten my brakes done in a while so I'd be set after this.



I drove it home with No difference and returned the next day where they said that I needed to drive it a bit more to "work it out" or whatever. Because my wife drives this more I didn't use it for about a month until a check engine light went on. So I figured it still hasn't changed and I can run the codes while I'm there.



They told me that it wasn't the brakes or tires that my whole problem was in the truck and after diagnosing it I needed about $300 more in spark plugs and filters.



I took it to my mechanic who re-diagnosed it and changed a sensor for $50 and I'm good.



I'm only 3000 miles and a year later and the brakes still suck. My mechanic says they either used bad parts or didn't change the parts period...and quoted me at half the price.



I called to ask if I can check it out to see if there was an error and Ken said that I am out of the warranty(which I get), but didn't even want to look at it. All I got over and over was denying and "we would never do that." I understand it's been a while because I don't use this vehicle, but telling me not to come down to get it checked out or to talk about it is pretty jacked up.



It's funny how in the beginning he said I had to come in to get a copy of the paperwork and that he couldn't send it to my email, yet by the end he said he'd just send it to my email so I didn't have to come in.



I literally would not be writing this if he had simply invited me down to check it out rather than washing his hands of the issue and telling me to stay away. Great business model Ken!

I took my vehicle in to sunland tire co because I had a check engine light on and they said they can fix it so I can smog it. I left it there a few hours and they changed a oxygen sensor. Come to find out they charged me to do a diagnostics test and they didn't even have a tester. They were doing trial and error with my money and I really don't appreciate it. I ended up taking it to a real shop and I passed with flying colors. These guys are classic thieves do not go there so they go out of bussiness and no one has to go through what I have.
