A V Pet City & Grooming

Great place; friendly staff; reasonable prices. My two dogs are small chihuahua mix, and one of them is kind of unpredictable. I wasn't sure how he'd react to the groomers, but he has never had a problem there. Both dogs go in looking like abandoned wild rats and come out looking like show dogs (okay maybe that's a stretch, but they look really good and they are super excited and happy).

Thank you to the groomer who took care of my dog today! Apparently unknown by us, our dog was being abused at the last place we were getting him groomed.( Which by the way was Critter Country on 40th West and L). I had heard of some bad encounters at my old groomer and decided, even though I never experienced a problem, I should try someone else just to be careful. After dropping our dog off we received a call from AV Pet City stating that our dog had defecated everywhere, was absolutely terrified and was growling and trying to bite the groomers. This behavior would escalate when our dog even SAW a dog brush in the groomers hand. THIS WAS A SHOCK TO US! Our dog is super sweet and friendly!! My heart is broken that our dog went through years of abuse every few weeks and we didn't know it. We were always told everything went well at the old groomer. Obviously this could not be the case! I am so grateful that AV Pet City had a kind heart and called us and let us know how traumatic this was for our dog. Apparently it is not uncommon for unscrupulous groomers to hit dogs with brushes to get them to submit to the posititions needed for grooming. Please be careful and make sure you are taking your dog to caring groomers like these. Our dog is now ruined as far as receiving grooming by an outside agency. I wish we had a groomer like these to start with!!
