General Info: The Palm Springs Police Department offers a range of law enforcement services for the general public. It operates an alarm diversion division that handles burglary and robbery cases. The department also manages Citizens' Police Academy, which serves doctors, lawyers, retirees, students, homemakers, journalists, pilots and teachers and offers classes that focus on patrol procedures, traffic investigation, narcotics and internal affairs. In addition, it files online crime reports. The department manages records, traffic and animal control divisions, as well as a jail. The Palm Springs Police Department is a part of the City of Palm Springs in California, which also operates aviation, community and economic development, information technology, planning and human resources departments.
